What is a Advanced Paramedic Practitioner
Works to the top of their licence to treat or refer patients independently and autonomously; bridging the emergency and primary care gap and bringing, or keeping, care closer to home for patients within a rotational working model that sees the postholder spending 50% of their time working with the ambulance service both clinically and operationally. Then 50% of their time within primary care services attached to either a GP cluster or a surgery itself, as a flexible resource; able to see patients face to face and do home visits as required.
The model has the potential to shift patients away from secondary care provision and make effective use of time, improving ambulance availability and freeing up the GP workload.
