Community Based Integrated Musculoskeletal Service

"My top tip … is to listen to that lived experience voice from those people that are living with this … day-to-day … Ask them what it is they actually need and that has been a real driver for the person centered approach seen. "

What is a Community Based Integrated Musculoskeletal Service

Through the development of a co-production network, the musculoskeletal team in Cardiff and Vale Health Board have developed a range of programmes based in communities that are supporting people to improve their health in ways that are important to them. Identifying learning needs and developing the skillsets of both registered and non-registered staff has had a significant impact on their wellbeing and enabled them to make positive impacts on the wider system reducing waiting lists, specialist contacts, and financial costs while supporting self-care and independence in the community.
