What is a Direct access - Dietetics-led IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) Service
This collaborative project has brought together innovative dietetics-led services in Betsi Cadwaladr UHB and Swansea Bay UHB. Dieticians with enhanced or advanced skills in the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other functional bowel disorders have developed a direct access service where people can be assessed and managed. Supported by the wider gastroenterology team, the teams have reduced waiting lists, supporting patients to be seen more quickly and to gain control of their symptoms, having a significant on their lives.
